Wanna Read An Article That'll Make Your Brain Melt?
Just try reading this article about people who want English to be spelled phonetically.
The author goes back and forth, paragraph by paragraph, between real spelling and the proposed phonetic style. I defy you to get through more than three paragraphs without a massive headache.

What utterly fantastic rationales! The thing I am trying to do is too hard, so I know! I'll just change the very thing to make it easy--easy enough for me to do it! No, I won't actually try to reach the bar as it is set...I'll just lower it to meet my needs. Resolved.
