Poll for the Chicago Unfocus Group Folks
How are you responding to the 3-track doomsday scenario? Did you change your route? Give yourself extra time to get to work or school this morning? How was it for you reverse commuters who head out to the suburbs for work?
I got to my red line platform at 8am, giving myself more than double the usual time to get to school for my 9:30 class, and it only took about five minutes longer than it usually does. The train didn't seem particularly crowded, despite the fact that fewer trains are running and it was rush hour. I'm planning to avoid the evening rush hour, which I've heard will be worse.

I'm a little disappointed that my commute was hardly inconvenienced. I commute north out of Lakeview, and the Purple Line was late, oh, 10 minutes... Which is typical. I got home about 10 minutes quicker than usual this evening. (I don't usually leave work, tho, until well after 6, so maybe I missed the mayhem.)
One of my coworkers mentioned that Chicago schools are on Spring Break this week. Maybe carnage will ensue when they return next week.
Sadly, the El doesn't go from Highland, Ind., to Merrillville, Ind. So my commute remains unaffected. Now when they start messing with the Borman, I'll be in trouble. My commute will go from 18 minutes to 20 minutes. Oh, the humanity!
"How are you responding to the 3-track doomsday scenario?" When I first read this sentence, I thought it had something to do with 3-green and Cleo leaving Chicago. I am sleepy.
And some day in 2012 the Metro will make it to Tysons Corner.
The El? Ahahahaha. Good one. Who still uses that anymore?
Buses. Cabs. Zipcar. A trio made in heaven.
My commute across the living room still clocks in at 7 seconds.
I love getting to drive the Dan Ryan every day. Wait, no, that's a living hell.
But remember, everyone, it's all in the name of the Olympics! /:
